I absolutely love it with all of my heart and it just makes me such a happy individual! I love getting to make amazing new friends and I learn something new literally everyday. McKenzie is a sweet and kind and very talented 17-year-old. She has been blessed with the ability to use her hands. One of her many talents is braiding hair. At age 4 she became very interested in hair and styled all of her barbie dolls’ hair into fancy updos and moved to braiding on manaquin heads. One day when Kenzie was 8 years old, she attempted to french braid her own hair. With great struggle comes great rewards especially to those who don’t give up. With sore arms and tears rolling down her face she completed that french braid and it was beautiful. McKenzie has braided several people’s hair since then for special events. You can find pictures of her creations on her Braids by Kenzie facebook page. Her dream job is to become a cosmotologist. As far as skating goes, McKenzie has been ice skating since June of 2018 and has progressed quickly through the Learn to Skate program and into private lessons with her coach, Kristina Leato, and being a member of the CPFSC. McKenzie loves to be silly and goofy on the ice and is always smiling. She is very close to landing her axel and double salchow. Some of her favorite skills to perform are the scratch spin, back spin, side layback, and camel spin. McKenzie is currently working at the Acord Ice Center at the front desk and as a Learn to Skate instructor.

Madisynn is a sweet and kind 15-year-old with many talents. Ice skating quickly became one of them. The first time she went ice skating was at a school outing in 2016. It was amazing at how rapidly she progressed at that outing. In 2017, her school had another ice-skating outing. At that outing she absolutely fell in love with ice skating and started asking if she could take lessons. In June of 2018 Maddie started skating in the Learn to Skate program at the Acord Ice Center and progressed swiftly through the levels. She even taught herself how to do a waltz jump before the instructor could. That December she started private lessons with her coach, Kristina Struthwolf-Leato. In 2019, Maddie joined the CPFSC and performed her first solo in the winter ice show to Oiche Chiun (Silent Night), by Enya. She performed beautifully. When COVID-19 hit and the ice rinks closed, she was absolutely devastated. Zoom off-ice lessons started and that helped cheer her up, and maintain her muscle memory of skating. When the rinks opened back up, Maddie eagerly went and picked up right where she left off. In September of 2020, Madisynn competed in Oktoberfest and won 1st place in her skating group. This year, Maddie will be competing in the Free Skate 3 Girls Program and the Beginner Character Performance as Maleficent. Over the last few years, scratch spins, camel spins, catch foot spiral, and waltz jumps were some of her favorite tricks, but now her most favorite trick is the layback spin which she performs so gracefully. Madisynn’s dream is to skate in the Olympics and become a figure skating coach.
